Itraconazole

General instructions:

This medicine is prescribed for your current illness, so do not use it in similar cases or recommend it to others.

If the symptoms of your disease become severe, be sure to inform your doctor. In case of any side effect, be sure to consult your doctor, whether it is mentioned in this instruction sheet or not.

Indications:

Itraconazole is an antifungal medication that is used in adults to treat infections caused by fungus. This includes infections in any part of the body including the lungs, mouth or throat, toenails, or fingernails.

Dosage & method of use: 

The exact amount of this medicine is determined by the doctor.

If you also take a stomach acid reducer , take itraconazole with an acidic drink such as non-diet cola, tea or coffee.

Skipping doses can increase your risk of infection that is resistant to medication. Itraconazole will not treat a viral infection such as the flu or a common cold.

If miss a dose,Take the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at one time.

Contraindications:

Do not use this medicine if you have the following conditions.

Allergy to itraconazole or any of the components of this medicine

Failure of Heart, pulmonary, Hepatic & kidney, Weakness of the immune system, Low levels of stomach acid, porphyry, Cystic fibrosis

Pregnancy

Breast-feeding & Pregnancy:

If you are breastfeeding or pregnant or planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Drug Interactions:

This drug interacts with a group of drugs, so if you are using any other type of drug or supplement, consult your doctor before taking this drug

Warning:

take with or just after food or a meal.

Do not take indigestion remedies 2 hours before or after you take this medicine.

Space the doses evenly throughout the day.keep taking this medicine until the course is finished, unless you are told to stop.

swallow this medicine whole do not chew or crush.

Dosing Considerations:

You should not take itraconazole if you have ever had heart failure.

If you have liver or kidney disease, you should not take itraconazole with colchicine, fesoterodine, or solifenacin.

Itraconazole may harm an unborn baby. Avoid getting pregnant while taking itraconazole and for 2 months after your last dose.

Stop using itraconazole and call your doctor at once if you have signs of congestive heart failure: feeling tired or short of breath, cough with mucus, fast heartbeats, swelling, rapid weight gain, or sleep problems.

Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how itraconazole will affect you. Your reactions could be impaired

Side Effects:

Each drug, in parallel with the desired therapeutic effects, may also cause some unwanted side effects. Although not all of these complications occur, consult your doctor.

Consult your doctor if you notice the following side effects:

Allergic reaction: hives, severe skin rash, tingling in the arms or legs, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Confusion, lightheadedness, Blurred vision, double vision, ringing in the ears, hearing problems, Fast or irregular heartbeat, Loss of bladder control ,leg cramps, constipation, increased thirst, muscle weakness or limp feeling, Severe pain in the upper part of the stomach that spreads to the back, nausea and vomiting, Liver problems

Common side effects:

Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness

increased blood pressure

fever, muscle or joint pain

unusual or unpleasant taste in your mouth

hair loss

Impotence, erection problems or changes in menstrual periods

Storage:

Store below 30 °C and protect from light and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Do not use after the expiration date

Dosage Form:

Each itraconazole 100 capsule contains 100 mg of itraconazole.
