General instructions:

This medicine is prescribed for your current illness, so do not use it in similar cases or recommend it to others.

If the symptoms of your disease do not improve within two weeks after starting to take this medicine, or if they become severe, be sure to inform your doctor. In case of any side effect, be sure to consult your doctor, whether it is mentioned in this instruction sheet or not.

Indications:

control of the symptoms of diarrhea, including acute nonspecific diarrhea, traveler’s diarrhea, chronic diarrhea, or to reduce ileostomy-associated diarrhea and output volume.

the adjunctive management of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome.

the treatment of AIDS-associated enteropathy with no identifiable infectious cause.

management of late-onset irinotecan-induced diarrhea

Dosage & Indications:

The exact amount of this medicine is determined by the doctor.

Administer orally with clear fluids.

Contraindications:

Do not use this medicine if you suffer from the following conditions.

Allergy to Loperamide and any excipient in this medicine  such as lactose.

Children under 2 years old

Dysentery

human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection

Acute heart diseases

patients with abdominal pain in the absence of diarrhea

constipation

Breast-feeding & Pregnancy: If you are breastfeeding or pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Drug Interactions:

This drug interacts with a group of drugs, so if you are using any other type of drug or supplement, consult your doctor before taking this drug.

Warnings:

This medicine may cause drowsiness, so avoid driving and working with equipment that requires full alertness during treatment.

This medicine should be used in children 2 to 6 years old under the supervision of a doctor.

If there is no improvement within 48 hours, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.

Dosing Considerations:

Patients with hepatic disease should be monitored closely for central nervous system side effects and toxicity while receiving loperamide. Systemic exposure to loperamide may be increased in patients with hepatic impairment due to reduced metabolism.

This medicine should be taken under the supervision of a doctor in the elderly.

Avoid loperamid HCl dosage higher than recommended in adult and patients 2 years of age and older due to the risk of serious cardiae adverse reaction.

Side Effects:

Each drug, in parallel with the desired therapeutic effects, may also cause some unwanted side effects. Although not all of these complications occur, consult your doctor.

The common side effects of this drug include: constipation ,respiratory depression ,urinary retention, nausea,abdominal pain,dyspepsia ,flatulence ,vomiting ,xerostomia ,drowsiness ,dizziness ,headache, fatigue pruritus ,urticaria ,syncope.

Storage:

Store below 30 °C and protect from light and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Dosage Form:

Loperamide 2 : Each tablet contain 2 mg Loperamide Hydrochloride.
